FAQs
Alder life care managers are experienced social workers or nurses who provide expert guidance and hands-on support. Unlike home care providers who focus on daily personal care tasks, life care managers coordinate medical appointments, advocate with healthcare providers, facilitate family discussions, navigate insurance issues, and implement comprehensive care plans. They're your professional partner who both advises and actively helps implement solutions.
Alder helps with hospital emergencies, sudden health declines, housing transitions, safety concerns at home, medical appointment coordination, family disagreements about care, cognitive changes, caregiver burnout, navigating insurance and benefits, finding trusted providers, rehabilitation planning, and long-distance caregiving. We support everything from preventive planning to handling urgent crises.
Alder’s life care managers are credentialed nurses and licensed social workers with decades of experience in aging and family care. They combine clinical expertise with deep compassion to guide families through complex decisions and ensure no detail falls through the cracks.
Alder is based in Greater Boston, where we’ve supported families for more than 30 years. We serve aging adults living in the area, but many of the supportive family members we partner with live elsewhere. Your dedicated care manager can coordinate everything locally so your loved one has hands-on support, even if you’re miles away. Alder offers virtual consults and follow-ups so you’ll always feel in the loop.
Alder offers flexible support at a rate of $220 per hour, with no long term contract. Whether you need a few hours of expert guidance or ongoing care coordination, you’ll only pay for the time and support you need.
You can schedule a free introductory call right away, usually within one business day. We’ll learn about your family’s situation, match you with a care manager, and begin supporting you, often within just a few days.
That’s exactly why families come to Alder. Our life care managers help you assess the situation, clarify what’s urgent and what can wait, and create a practical plan that fits your family’s needs. You don’t have to have it all figured out — we’ll help you find the right starting point.
